Understanding Your Contact Lens Prescription #1 - Base Curve

By editor
October 13, 2009

The back curvature of a contact lens is measured in millimeters. For best fit, eye comfort and health, the CL base curve is prescribed to match or compliment the curvature of your cornea (the clear covering over the front of your eye). The lower the base curve number, the steeper the curve of your cornea. For further information or to book a contact lens appointment with one of our doctors please call any of our three Rochester, NY Cornerstone Eye Associates locations in Gates (585-328-0153), Brighton (585-244-2200) or Irondequoit (585-266-7880).
