Wearing Makeup with Contact Lenses
Tuesday, August 24th, 2010, 9:12 amIf you have a choice and, unless a lack of vision prohibits this, it is preferable to insert your contacts after applying makeup to avoid mascara flakes, loose powder, or other products getting on the lenses or between the contact lens and your eye. Also, as a contact lens wearer, it is important to give some thought to the application and ingredients of a particular makeup. A non-allergenic makeup that is labeled as safe for contact lens wearers is quite often the best. Moreover, eye makeup, in particular, should be of the waterproof type so that in the event your eyes tear (or if wetting drops are used) makeup would not end up in your eyes and on the contacts.
