At Cornerstone Eye Associates in Rochester NY we offer LASIK, the most popular form of vision correction surgery, and also PRK. PRK  was the forerunner of LASIK and is still an option for todays patients. We know that LASIK patients mantain stablity of vision over many years. We know have documentation that indicates that PRK patients recieve attain the same stability.

A recent study was conducted to evaluate the long-term outcomes of myopic, or nearsighted, PRK. The study reports that patients refractive error from the time they were 6 months postop to the time they were 14 years postop  was virtually the same with no regression in myopia. The conclusion drawn was that PRK is safe and vision is stable with myopic PRK.

We at Cornerstone Eye Associates are pleased to be able to offer patients freedom from glasses and contact lenses, with LASIK and PRK.
