1. What's the difference between the Zyoptix system and standard LASIK?
While standard LASIK has been a popular and effective means of vision correction, it does not correct individual flaws and irregularities in the cornea. The Bausch & Lomb Zyoptix system has the capability to provide customized laser treatment that is unique to each individuals eye.
2. How will I know If I am a good candidate?
You may be a good candidate if you:
Please note that only your eye doctor can determine if you are a suitable candidate for the Zyoptix procedure based on appropriate diagnostic tests and medical history.
No. The Zyoptix procedure is designed to be virtually painless with minimum discomfort. The actual laser portion of the procedure can be performed in a matter of minutes.
4. How quickly will my eyes recover?
You should be able to see better 1-2 hours after the treatment, but you'll notice the dramatic difference when you wake up the next day. You may need to avoid contact sports and swimming for 2-3 weeks. Your eye doctor will advise you what is suitable for your individual needs.
5. What kind of vision impairment will Zyoptix correct?
Most people who are myopic (nearsighted) can be helped by the Bausch & Lomb Zyoptix system. The Zyoptix procedure can even correct astigmatism.
6. Will I ever require glasses after my Zyoptix procedure?
Some people find that there are individual pursuits where they are more comfortable wearing glasses even after their successful Zyoptix procedure. Patients who suffer from presbyopia (most people by the age 40-50) will still require reading and/or intermediate glasses after their procedure.
