4. Spring Hinges

The best tint for sport sunglasses often depends on the environmental and lighting conditions you experience while participating in a particular sport. So, while this guide offers quick “tried-and-true” tint solutions recommended by many eyecare professionals, don’t be afraid to experiment with lens colors–sometimes the best tints for optimizing performance are a matter of personal preference. A yellow or orange tint tends to heighten contrast in overcast, hazy, low-light conditions outdoors or for indoor sports and filters blue light for sharper focus. Examples of sports in which these tints may help improve performance include: cycling, hunting, shooting, skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, indoor basketball, handball, racquetball, and/or tennis. An amber, rose or red tint heightens contrast in partly cloudy and sunny conditions, but also causes significant color imbalances.
